Remote Agents works across desktop, mobile, and your active VS Code workflow.

This is the public platform overview for the current product surface: the desktop app, the mobile app, and the VS Code extension that carries the active agent workflow across devices.

1. Desktop platforms

Windows

Use the desktop app on Windows to pair with your VS Code workflow and relay the session to other devices.

macOS

Use the macOS desktop app when your development machine or your secondary device is on macOS.

Linux

Use the Linux desktop app for the same cross-device workflow on supported Linux environments.

2. Mobile platforms

iPhone and iPad

The mobile app gives you the same session continuity, follow-up prompts, and approval flow on iOS.

Android

The Android app is for the same phone-first workflow when the agent needs a human decision away from your desk.

3. Editor surface

Remote Agents is centered on a VS Code extension plus companion apps. The extension is the bridge to the active coding-agent workflow, while the desktop and mobile apps expose that same workflow on additional devices.

4. Installation flow

  1. Choose the plan that matches your connectivity needs.
  2. Complete checkout and sign in with the account you want to use across devices.
  3. Install the desktop and mobile apps from the post-checkout flow.
  4. Sign in on each device with the same account to activate the workflow.

Public installation note: the current product flow provides install access after checkout, so the public website keeps the gated download page out of search and uses this page as the public overview instead.

5. Network modes

Starter same-network mode

Use Starter when the devices that need the workflow are on the same local network.

Pro or Team cloud mode

Use Pro or Team when you need the same workflow across different networks instead of one shared local environment.
