Quick privacy summary: Starter keeps session continuity on your own machine and local network. Pro and Team add cloud relay across networks. Traffic is encrypted in transit, billing is handled by Stripe, and privacy or support questions can be sent through the contact page.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Remote Agents website, desktop app, mobile apps, VS Code extension, and optional cloud relay services. In this Policy, "Remote Agents," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the operators of the Remote Agents product and website.

Remote Agents lets you continue and control an active coding-agent workflow from another device. Access is provided through account-based subscriptions. Starter uses same-network relay; Pro and Team include cloud relay.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to operate the product, process billing, secure the service, and respond to support requests.

  • Account information: If you create an account, we may collect your email address, authentication credentials, and basic account profile information. If you sign in with GitHub, we receive the information needed to complete that sign-in flow.
  • Subscription and billing information: If you purchase a paid plan, billing and payment processing are handled by Stripe. We may receive subscription status, plan type, renewal information, customer identifiers, and limited billing metadata, but we do not store your full payment card number on our own systems.
  • Device and connection information: We may process device names, device identifiers, platform information, IP address, timestamps, and similar technical metadata needed to connect your devices, secure the service, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Session and relay information: If you use cloud relay features, messages, prompts, approvals, and related session content may pass through our service to deliver the feature you requested.
  • Support communications: If you email us, we collect the information you include in your message and any attachments or follow-up correspondence.

Website analytics and cookies: We do not currently use third-party analytics cookies or advertising cookies on the Remote Agents marketing website.

3. Local Mode and Cloud Mode

Starter same-network relay

Starter is designed for use on your own machine and local network. Session continuity stays within your local environment.

Pro/Team cloud relay

Pro and Team include cloud relay. When enabled, Remote Agents may route session traffic through hosted infrastructure so your devices can stay connected across networks.

Based on the current product design, we describe cloud relay as a transient relay service rather than a server-side archive of your session content. That means cloud-relayed content may be processed to deliver the service, but is not intended to be retained as long-term message storage after delivery.

No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and Remote Agents is not currently marketed as an end-to-end encrypted communications service.

4. How We Use Information

  • To provide local and cloud session continuity features
  • To authenticate users and manage accounts
  • To process subscriptions, renewals, and billing events
  • To maintain security, detect abuse, and enforce service limits
  • To provide customer support and respond to questions
  • To maintain, improve, and troubleshoot the product
  • To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights

5. Service Providers and Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us operate Remote Agents, including:

  • Supabase for authentication and supporting data infrastructure
  • Stripe for subscription and payment processing
  • Fly.io for hosted cloud relay infrastructure
  • GitHub OAuth if you choose GitHub as your sign-in method

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, prevent fraud or abuse, protect users, or enforce our terms.

6. Retention and Deletion

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including operating the service, maintaining account records, processing billing, resolving disputes, and meeting legal obligations.

If you are using same-network relay only, the service is designed to minimize cloud-side data handling because session continuity stays within your machine and local network. If you use cloud mode, limited account, billing, and technical records may remain for operational, security, or legal reasons even after active use ends.

You can request account deletion through our public Delete Account page. Sign-in is required to submit a request, hosted cloud access is disabled immediately after the request is made, and permanent deletion happens after a 90-day grace period unless you cancel during that period.

If you have questions about retained data or need privacy support outside the self-serve flow, use the contact page.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information we process. That said, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for controlling access to your devices and development environments.

8. Your Choices

  • You can choose the plan that matches your workflow: Starter for same-network relay, or Pro and Team for cloud relay across networks.
  • You can choose whether to enable cloud mode.
  • You can choose whether to sign in with email/password or GitHub OAuth when that option is available.
  • You can cancel a paid subscription at any time, subject to the billing terms described in our Terms of Service.
  • You can request account deletion from our public Delete Account page and cancel during the 90-day grace period before permanent deletion.

9. Children and Age Requirements

Remote Agents is intended for developers, technical teams, and other users who can form a binding agreement with us. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes and Contact

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may update the date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice through the website or product.

For privacy questions, support requests, or deletion requests, use the contact page.
